And We're Back
After a bit of a hiatus (7 years! Where did the time go!?) I am back at one of my first loves. Over the last few years, I've continued to hone my craft amid a few significant life changes. I am not married; I am, however, the proud owner of a very expensive piece of paper that says I'm a Master of Professional Communications now. I also have a Border Collie that I am crazy about, and I am seeing someone great. Like the rest of the world, I have been surviving through a global pandemic and trying to make sense of this new reality. Lots of life has been lived, adventures had, tears shed, and lessons learned. I am proud of the woman I have become.
These last few years have given me a valuable opportunity to look at what is 'life-giving' in my life. I know that listening to my creative spirit and desire to put beauty and kindness into the world is a part of me that cannot and should not be silenced.
Photography presents such a unique opportunity to spend time with individuals, couples and families in a little encapsulated moment in time. I've had the privilege of photographing families, friends, couples, pets, and birthday parties... and I continue to learn of the depth of love I have for this art form.
I love capturing a special moment, from finding incredible lighting to composing a timeless shot. This is the first part of the process that I love. However, I am always delighted when I take my camera home and start editing. It is here where I get to notice the special millisecond moments of a look that is so full of love or a glance that would have otherwise gone unseen. I get to see the pure joy of laughter or play for the first time. These moments are so unique and deserving of memorializing.
As a photographer, I aim to create a comfortable space where you and your loved one(s) are relaxed, having fun and feeling great.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing about your ideas and hopefully creating some photo magic with you.
Best,
Alexa
